Tough and reliable
Nio is stable and robust enough to be trusted on stage as well as in the studio. The audio drivers are rock-solid so you can rely on Nio for Digital DJing and recording on location.
Nio is compact and tough, making it ideal for gigging. Its can withstand knocks and scrapes, it is USB bus powered - so no external power supply is needed - and it is small and light enough to be truly portable.
Gigging with Nio
There are four outputs on RCA/phono jacks. So if you are DJing with software like Traktor, you can send 2 separate stereo signals to 2 channels in a DJ mixer.
The 2 headphone outputs can also be controlled independently with 2 knobs, enabling two people to monitor the mix.
You can also plug a microphone into Nio's XLR input for live vocal performances.
Recording with Nio
Nio is well suited to the studio and mobile recording rigs. As well as a stereo pair of RCA/phono inputs (for DJ mixers, keyboards etc), a 1/4" jack and an XLR input mean you can record vocals and guitars straight into your music software.
The 2 headphone outputs can be independently controlled, so 2 performers, or an artist and an engineer can have different levels simultaneously.
With 2 pairs of outputs on RCA/phono jacks, the first can be routed to a pair of studio monitors, and the second pair can be sent to anything; including hardware FX. bus compressor, or even another recording device.
On-board FX and free software
Nio features ‘Direct FX’ technology, which hosts a powerful multi-effects engine within Nio's drivers. These effects work independently of other software, providing powerful ultra-low latency effects for real time jamming and recording.
